Dear triathletes,
What was already hinted at last year has now unfortunately become a certainty: There will be no Double Ultra Triathlon Germany in 2027.
The reason for this is the upcoming construction work to renew the Mühlenbach Bridge on Reckenfelder Straße (K 53). The planned start of construction in March 2027, as well as the expected duration of the construction phase, make it impossible to implement the cycling route in its usual and proven format.
Of course, we thoroughly examined the possibility of an alternative route. However, this examination did not yield a viable result. An alternative route could only have been implemented with considerable additional organizational and financial effort, which, in our view, would not have been proportionate to the requirements for safety, quality, and sustainability of the event.
This decision was anything but easy for us. The Double Ultra Triathlon Germany thrives not only on its extraordinary athletic challenge, but also on continuity, reliability, and the highest organizational standards – principles we are committed to upholding.
The organizing team is therefore already looking ahead and planning for the Double Ultra Triathlon Germany in 2029 (June 15-17). We would be delighted to welcome you as participants again then.
