On June 14, the world championships for the double long-distance triathlon, the 6th Detten “DUT,” will start at the Waldbad (forest pool) in Emsdetten. The organizing team is ready. The 69 participants must first complete a 7.6 km swim, followed by a 360 km bike ride, before tackling the final 84.4 km run. The race will take place in the area of the Waldbad (forest pool) and the Emsdetten Tennis Club on Blumenstrasse and the adjacent industrial area in Emsdetten. A grandstand will be set up for visitors on June 14 and 15, and food and drink will be available on both days. “Please come along and support the athletes,” entices the DUT organizing team. The new world champion will likely cross the finish line in the early hours of Sunday morning.
